2 weeks in June

My husband and I are planning a trip to New England during the first two weeks of June.

He has been before (as a child - his Dad is from Massachusetts) but it will be my first time visiting the area.

We were thinking about a three-centred break - Boston and maybe Cape Cod and New Hampshire.

Any suggestions on itinery, locations etc all welcome.

We are 27yrs old, enjoy good food, walking and sightseeing.

Many thanks

There is a motorcycle rally in the Lakes Region starting on June 13. Traffic is not bad the beginning part of the rally but will get progressively worse. Restaurants etc. get more crowded. Mostly in Laconia, Weirs Beach.

Thanks, we would be planning to leave on the 13th June.

While the weather in June can be iffy, anything will probably seem great to you!!! As a college student I climbed Arthur%26#39;s seat and camped out (without permission) at Urquart Castle. Very fond memories of Scotland. These are the only one%26#39;s appropriate for this forum. (lol). Anyway, you can certainly spend a few days wandering around Boston. It is a very walkable city. There are easy day trips to Cape Cod and Martha%26#39;s Vineyard (45 minute trip by boat) or you can take a boat from Boston to Provincetown which is quite unique. In Boston, there are a number of great neighborhoods to explore like the North End (Italian), Back Bay, Beacon Hill ( a must walk), the public gardens are really beautiful.

Newport,RI is also a great day trip.

Of course, this forum is all about NH and there are many great places to visit whether you stay in a hotel or b%26amp;b. For that quintessential place, many people would recommend Jackson, NH. Close to MW, lakes, lots of hiking, great restaurants, good locally crafted beers (Tuckerman%26#39;s and Moat Mountain), swimming holes, rivers, etc.

You could easily do 4 days in 3 places which would allow you to see quite alot and be able to relax a little.

I would urge you to consider the southwest area of New Hampshire, it is convenient to Mass, Vermont and is loaded with nice restaurants, great natural places for walking including Chesterfiel Gorge,Surry Mt Dam trails, good restaurants, theatre. Day trips to the surrounding towns and states are easily planned from this area and less touristy than many other spots in New England.

June is fabulous in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire! People are so happy to get some warm sun, the trees have just turned multi-colored green against the blue lakes, it is heaven here. Everything is open and fresh, it is my favorite time of year. Not too hot, just right. Best time of year other than fall for hiking. May be a few black flies but they are easily controlled.
