Almost there!!!

For the past week or so I have been tweeking the life out of our itinerary. Would appreciate the experts thoughts on the plan so far.

30 Jun-4 July Jurys Boston

Leave Boston at 6am on 4th July.

Chatham 4-11 July.

Nordic Resort North Conway. 11-14 July

Portland (Hilton Garden Downtown) 14-17 July

17 July Drive to Boston - Fly home.

I increased our nights in Boston, and cancelled our 2 nights in Falmouth. One of the experts suggested we were not spending enough time in Boston (very true). Got a great rate in Jurys (less than $180 a night).

We have a house rented in Chatham for the week. I got a great deal - about $175 per night for a 2 bed town house in N Conway.

I was very disappointed with Glenmoor by the Sea in Camden. It looked ideal - lovely cabins on the beach. However I could not get a reply from them after 6 e-mails. I presume they were booked out. So, we have decided to go to Portland and strike out to various activities from there.

We plan to stay in Hilton Garden Inn Downtown The rates vary so much for this hotel. Got an average rate of $275 per night to include breakfast for the 4 of us - (not much difference in the rates which include breakfast) which is good value. I realise we will have to pay for parking.

So, if you get a minute take a look over the itinerary - we have been so grateful for the local dvice, tips given so far.

Almost there!!!

I think this looks like a great itinerary. A good amount of time in each place, so you shouldn%26#39;t feel rushed (and yes, there is SO much to see and do in Boston). There are lots of daytrips you can take from Portland, so staying there in town won%26#39;t be a problem. Am sorry to hear that Glenmoor was so unresponsive...

I%26#39;ll be on the lookout for you in N. Conway! :)

ps - tweaking is part of the fun! You should see how many times we%26#39;ve revised our trip to Ireland!

Almost there!!!

biancat,

One thing I meant to add... I don%26#39;t think you need to leave Boston quite so early on the 4th. I think if you were on the road by 8am you%26#39;d be ok... there would probably be some traffic once you got to the Cape, but I wouldn%26#39;t think it would be that bad yet... plus, a lot of businesses will be closed Friday, so I%26#39;d bet a lot of folks will have done their driving already.
