Hampton Beach Hotels

We are planning a vacation to Hampton Beach in Aug and I am looking for a hotel recommendation. I will be traveling with my husband and 2 children (ages 9 %26amp; 2) I was looking for a hotel on the beach, with a pool, and an efficiency set-up. Any suggestions???

Hampton Beach Hotels

Chris,

If you click on Hampton Hotels, top left on your screen, you will get alot of info, photo%26#39;s, pricing and reviews on various places. Are you looking at a specific price range? Does the hotel need to have various amenities or would a motel be ok with you?

A motel would be fine. We are looking for inexpensive, but still clean, nice and hopefully within walking distance of some activities. We have never vacationed here before, but I heard there was mini golf, an arcade and a playgroud to help keep my 8 year old busy.

Does anyone have information regading the Aegean Motel? Good or Bad? It is not listed in the top 35..is this a sign that I should stay away?

Chris,

On page three look under a post by ';VeronicaNYC99'; named ';Motels in Hampton Beach';

There is info on various places to stay including the Aegean motel. Hope this will help.

I can tell you that there%26#39;s new owners and it%26#39;s NOT what it used to be if that helps you. It%26#39;s one of the better convenient motels directly across the street from the beach %26amp; the ';Lady'; statue. I really like that end of the beach better, so that way you%26#39;re lucking out with your kids. The boardwalk is easy to get to from there and besides that, your kids will really like Mrs. Mitchell%26#39;s gift shop and you%26#39;ll be walking right by it to get to your motel if you do stay there! Go in there and have them check out the crabs in the cage, that%26#39;s where we always have to go with the little ones, they love it! You just have to walk to the corner for the cross walk %26amp; a few yards down is the Aegean from there. It%26#39;s extremely convenient that way. Only a few doors down from the Ashworth By The Sea Motel. I didn%26#39;t see any write up on the Aegean here on TA at all. I did have a cousin stay there for a couple of summers a week at a time and they never had any issues with it at all AND it was the other owners at the time! I wrote about it here a few years ago and some one wrote back from NY that it was disgusting there, BUT like I said, that was when it was the other owners before. It%26#39;s definitely different now and the property looks in better shape too trust me! You can view the rooms on their site if that helps. It looks like a few of them were renovated, or I should say cleaned up from the way they were before! It looks like they got rid of that yucky dark (gross) paneling they used to use in the 60%26#39;s, LOL!

One thing about it is they have refrigerators in the room etc...so that will be ideal that way. You should find Market Basket in Seabrook to shop though! The little grocery stores at the beach are wicked high due to the summer prices. So remember that, if you get off at Exit 1 in Seabrook along Rte 1 you%26#39;ll see the Market Basket, that%26#39;s where you want to get your groceries, you%26#39;ll like their prices MUCH better.

Have a great time!

Another one I wanted to make sure you knew about is that a ton of families we know love love love the Main Sail on Ashworth Avenue. There%26#39;s reviews on TA right here about it. The only thing about it is that it%26#39;s a block in back of Ocean Blvd. That%26#39;s actually the only thing about it that you might not like. It definitely has a good reputation for not putting up with loud parties and all that though, so that%26#39;s a huge plus! It%26#39;s well run %26amp; they won%26#39;t tolerate party animals, which is a good thing for families %26amp; the little ones. It%26#39;s very very clean there and when you read the reviews on it, you can make your decision with it. I don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s cheaper than the Aegean but it%26#39;s got a great reputation all around in other ways. It%26#39;s not exactly on the beach, but it%26#39;s near it at least, within walking distance. Remember though, the Aegean is right right there, directly across the street from the ocean where the Main Sail is down in back on Ashworth Avenue a block down from the ocean.

Thanks for all the great responses. What about the Pelham Resort? This is the one we are currently leaning towards. It seems to have good reviews, listed as #7, it is centrally located, and it has an outdoor pool. I got a little nervous with the Aegean when it was not listed and there was only one comment made in the forum.

another question....What is the casino water slide? Is it just one slide? is there more to it? a pool?

That%26#39;s the Casino Cascade Water slide. It%26#39;s one of those winding slides that goes in to a pool at the bottom, it%26#39;s not a huge pool per say, it%26#39;s just part of the slide where you land when you come out, it%26#39;s long at the end for the glide you%26#39;re doing as you come off the slide. The kids love this water slide, I remember taking my nieces there when they were small on it. I even went on it with them, it was fun! There%26#39;s always people on it, they obviously do a good business with it. One thing about it that we really liked is that they have life guards. I thought it was pretty reasonable what they charged for it too. Water Country is up in Portsmouth along Rte 1 and it%26#39;s a lot more for the day. This Water slide was great for a couple of hours after the beach or before it, you just have to check to see how crowded it is when you%26#39;re there, that%26#39;s all, it%26#39;s right near the beach any way, so it%26#39;s convenient.

There%26#39;s a picture of it on this site, scroll down to see it:

The Pelham Resort is in a good location, it%26#39;s right near the Casino, along the boardwalk up front on Ocean Blvd where you want to be. The reviews on it aren%26#39;t bad at all. I guess they got new owners in the last few years and it%26#39;s not what it used to be, so that%26#39;s a good sign %26amp; it shows with the reviews. You%26#39;d be south of the Casino, but still near everything.
