whatever happened to Bungay Jar?

Dear all

Have just posted seeking W. Mountains recs.

One place that got good write ups in guidebook was Bungay Jar but I cant get to their website any more and phone line seems dead

Does anyone know if it is still open and, if so, is it any good ?!

Thanks

It was a pretty funky place and the third floor room with its skylights and ceiling painted to look like the night sky were pretty cool!

I know it had been for sale sometime last year but I have no idea what the status of it is now. Sorry that doesn%26#39;t help you now.

thanks

any other recs in that area ?

is the sugar hill inn any good ?

Hi, you may not be watching this anymore, but to the great sorrow of those of us who loved the Bungay Jar, the owners sold it and the purchasers are using it as a private residence. I was terribly sorry that I did not get to plan a final trip there when the owners sent out the news, but there wasn%26#39;t time. I miss it greatly!

I am sorry that I never had the chance to see this lovely inn. I can report from personal experience that the Sugar Hill Inn, the Sunset Hill House and Franconia Inn are all in operation and very good places to stay. Food is particularly excellent at the Sugar Hill Inn. Hope you are planning to visit our Sugar Hill Lupine Festival next month!
