Hi--we might rent a vacation home in North Conway--it is one of several available rented by Ned Sullivan. Does anyone have any experiences--good or bad?
Many Thanks,
Parcells

Never heard of him. Is he a private owner or part of an R E agency?
Reviews on Ned Sullivan rental homes in North Conway?
Hi,
From what I know his full name is Joseph ';Ned'; Sullivan and his family built and rent several homes in the area. We just found the home thru VRBO web site and it just lists his name. I did find that two of the family companies is Kearsarge and Forest Edge. Not sure if that helps.
Thanks...Parcells
Hi, My sisters and I had a reunion in North Conway last summer and stayed in one of his homes. It was beautiful, clean, close to everything, and a good deal. We are thinking of going again this year and would certainly stay there again. Hope this helps. Andrea
Hi Andrea,
Thanks--that does help! Makes us feel better about the house. Just curious, did you stay at the house near the red jacket inn?
Thanks!

Hello again,
We actually stayed in one half of a duplex with 5 bedrooms and 4 baths. I believe the name of the street was Whitehorse, or something like that. Hope you have a great trip. Andrea
We had a very unpleasant experience with Ned Sullivan and one of his ski homes. We booked one of his homes at 29 White Horse Road in North Conway this February 2009, we payed in full nearly 2 months prior and he sent the key to the unit. All was well.
Two days before the trip, I called to confirm, that%26#39;s when Ned told us he had doubled booked the unit by accident, and we couldn%26#39;t come.
We were stuck, we had 6 couples and we%26#39;d arranged the dates many months in advance, we couldn%26#39;t just change dates and go the next weekend.
Ned tried to help us by booking us at someone else%26#39;s condo, but it was smaller and not what we wanted. So Ned said he%26#39;d overnight us our money back and credit us $300 for our inconvenience.
The next day, no money. We needed this money to try to get another ski house (with 2 days left). I called Ned and he swore that he%26#39;d overnighted it.
This went on for nearly 3 weeks, I%26#39;d check the mail each day, and each day no money. Eventually I thought we%26#39;d been scammed. Ned stopped taking my calls. I had to call from my wife%26#39;s phone so he wouldn%26#39;t recognize the number. Then we got a lawyer involved and began to file a criminal action claim. The next day, by chance, our money arrived. It took nearly 3 weeks and cost many sleepless nights wondering if we%26#39;d been scammed.
In the end Ned did credit us $300, but if you%26#39;re looking for a ski house rental with a peace of mind, look elsewhere.
When you rent from Ned, does he send you a lease, or anything in writing as a rental confirmation? I am a little leary about just sending him a deposit check. Also, the photos of the house I am interested in ((http://www.cyberrentals.com/rental/p226457)) look too good to be true. Has anyone ever rented this place, and is it really this nice?
Andrea
Hi - I was part of a group that was royally screwed over by Ned Sullivan. We had twelve people signed up for one of his properties for the weekend. Guests coming from Chicago, NY etc. And a week before he tells us he double booked the place and that we couldn%26#39;t stay. ';Sorry';. We scrambled and found a different place, but what was most annoying was the fact that Ned did not return the several thousand dollars we had given him for like three weeks. We had to hound him day and night and once the lawyers began to come on the scene, the check appeared. Stay away from Ned Sullivan!!
